Yes, VS6 Installer can be run from Windows 2000 (with SP4) and later versions, up to Windows Seven 64-bit.

In theory yes, but this version of Windows does not have the VB6 virtual machine msvbvm60.dll (present in all later versions).

The quickest way is to keep everything on your hard disk: both VS6 Installer and all the source files for VS6.0, MSDN Library, and SP6.

Also, set the ROOT folder into hard disk.

For example, you can make a copy of all five CD VS6.0 + Service Pack 6.

In this way the preparation of the folders and installation process will be very fast.

Yes. VS6 Installer prepares different folders for Visual Studio and Visual Basic so you can perform the Step 1 for Visual studio, then repeating for Visual Basic.

Please note that the Visual Studio folder is the same for both Enterprise and Professional versions.

Yes, but due to some incompatibility you need to uncheck some of the components in the installation.

Probably you already have previously installed Visual Studio or Visual Basic in other ways, but without success. If so, before you use VS6 Installer, you have to clean your system.

Please remove:

- any and all remaining files and folders from the Program Files folder

- the node from the Windows Registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Visual Basic
